What I like about CrossFitters is their follow through. For example, when CJ and Carl got to talking about rowing a marathon as part of our Concept2 World Rowing Challenge it seemed like one of those things people say and never actually do. But then, they made the mistake of letting Ellie in on the idea. Between Ellie and CJ, there was a plan in place and by mid day on Sat each of our hardworking C2 rowers had a marathon rowed on it. You can read Ellie’s description below. In the photo you can see Pancho, Ellie’s awesome 5yr old boy who brought his supplies and hung out for the whole thing. And Ellie found out that same day that she has been accepted to nursing school at the UofA. Congratulations!!
Yeah baby! The Saturday 2 PM workout is so much fun that I never miss it. Okay almost never. I did miss todays fun class but it was only because I was at the gym this morning at 8am with Carl and CJ to row a marathon. In the end I only ended up rowing 28,000 meters but I was (and am) so wiped out that I probably would have cried at the 2 o’clock class and that would not have been motivating.
By the way, CJ rowed over 33,000 meters and Carl rowed over 15,000 meters. And Carl is just trying to make a come back from a back injury and had to stop in the middle and teach the kids class.
We did have help from a couple other absolutely wonderful crossfitters relieving us for a while and it was a great experience. if we don’t get ourselves another rower out of this whole deal I am going to write the company!
All in all… crossfit is the best thing that has happened to me since my kid and I love that i have such great people to do it with.

Congratulations Ellie! You’re awesome!
Way to row, gang!
