Obviously everything sold in your “gluten-free” aisle is not Paleo and is not necessarily all that good for you and sure as heck isn’t Paleo. Often, gluten-free foods contain sugars, bean flours, rice flours, potato starch and other crap. BUT, if I had to choose one aspect of eating Paleo that was most important to stick with-especially for those of you with ANY health problems like skin rashes, inflammatory illnesses or auto-immune stuff-it would be to stay gluten-free. Going out to eat may be difficult to do 100% Paleo, but it is cake to do it gluten-free. Tomorrow there will be a gluten-free event here in town. You can find out about screening for gluten sensitivity. You can sample foods. You can check out local restaurants and their gluten-free offerings. This looks to be a very family-friendly event. If you are one of those people who claim that remaining gluten-free is “too hard” or “too restrictive” go to this event and meet some Celiac-sufferers. These folks don’t have the option of deciding that gluten-free living is “too hard”. Remember, what they experience powerfully, you experience moderately or mildly. Learn from them. Learn about how wide the world of gluten-free eating actually is, even right here in your own back yard! You can find out details at: http://www.southernarizonaceliacsupport.org/
