Shout out to Tony, Leonard and my accountant!

Well, April 15th-Tax Day.  I actually began this day happily at my accountant’s office, picking up my completed taxes.  Bryce at Pinnacle Accounting, Financial Guidance Services fixed me up.  It is so important to have people in life that really offer information, support and guidance in a respectful way.  I feel like my accountant should be like my CrossFit trainer.  He knows stuff I don’t and helps me be better at something. I shouldn’t dread going to see him, he shouldn’t make me feel like a lame jerk just because I can’t keep track of when the tax forms are due, he should offer me helpful suggestions and ideas and be a resource for me as I work to improve my accounting strategies.  You can insert the word “CrossFit” where I used the word “accounting” and you’ll see what I mean.  Thanks Bryce.

Yesterday’s deadlift and running workout was a good one.  Tony was the only person to do the workout at 1.25xbodyweight.  He finished more slowly than others and he walked some on the run.  Word up to those of you who dashed through the run-when you deadlift like Tony your legs don’t want to run!  That was a full on high intensity effort workout.   Really impressive effort.  Leonard too, put in the same type of effort Tony did-although he wasn’t quite ready to go to 1.25bodyweight.  Great work Leonard.  So, Leonard (in the photo above) only moved to Tucson a little bit ago and it isn’t really feeling like home for him.  If you have any ideas about how to make Leonard’s new home a little more like home for him, let’s hear it.

I have to agree completely with Jen (maybe for the first time ever!) Just kidding, we agree occasionally. Seriously, I’ve really enjoyed watching Tony and Leonard attack their workouts too. It’s completely inspiring. I can’t wait to see them competing in our CrossFit Works Games on Saturday April 25th. If you haven’t made plans to be here, you should. We will be creating different levels so you will be competing with others at your fitness level… after seeing these guys, I’m going to lobby for Jen to put me in whatever category they’re not in! Good work guys! As a side note, I know Ralph, Matt, Maria and a handful of others got New Personal Records on their overhead lifts during yesterday’s workout, if you got one too let us know by posting a comment. This is definately the place for that and Personal Bests are a big deal in CrossFit, so don’t hide your light under a basket, come on! Toot your own horn! It’s inspiring for Jen and I and also for your fellow CrossFitters. April has been awesome, keep up the good work everybody!

Where is Tony from? I have been living in Tucson for a long time now; maybe we could come up with something that we have here but is also like “home.” At least he found crossfit works fast. That is a really good start.

Sorry we didn’t get to talk so much yesterday Leonard, I was too involved in the overhead workout. If you hang around us long enough Jen and Carl will make you feel like you are at home. Hey maybe you can get Jen to cook for all of us! :)

Where do I sign up to have Jen cook for me??? :) A Paleo zone meal delivery service sounds really good to me right about now. I had a pr on my shoulder press on Monday. 80 pounds!

Nice job on the shoulder press Nikki!

I agree that joining CrossFit Works will help Leonard feel at home here in Tucson. Everyone is so kind and encouraging! Speaking of…congratulations on the PR’s, everyone! I miss you all, and I miss the state of total body soreness that I’ve become accustomed to. See you on Monday!
