Weight Loss, or not.

Brenda tells me she has gained 7lbs in the last few weeks.  What kind of trainer/nutrition educator am I?You all should fire me.  Oh, but she can pull her jeans off without unbuttoning them now.  OK, don’t fire me, yet.  Put me on probation.  A few weeks ago I watched Brenda struggle to get through a small amount of jump roping.  She looked like I was killing her.  Last night she absolutely killed a Tabata jump rope workout.  Like, who took away Brenda and brought me this jumproping girl?  I’m keeping her.

Ellie’s Dr. tells her she has gained 10lbs.  Every couple weeks one of my trainers says, “Have you seen Ellie lately?  She looks so different.”  We see that you inhabit your body differently, that you look like muscle!

Sarah is here this morning.  3 wks on Paleo.  Her pants are baggy, her watch that used to be too tight during the day is loose enough for her to fit a finger under the strap.

Chauncey is a couple belt holes smaller.  How much does he weigh?  He doesn’t care and who would?

Christine has lost 6lbs and 1.5″ around her waist in a little under 3 wks.  Plus, that pull up is very nearby…

Briar’s gonna have to get some baggy shorts, so no one will look at her gorgeous legs.

We don’t care how much you weigh.  Maybe your Dr. should ask about your deadlift.  You can pick up your son and lift him over head now?  Is that OK with you?  Body composition and performance is where it is at.  Body composition means the amount of muscle you have compared to the amount of fat.  So many of you came with no muscle mass to speak of.  If you didn’t gain some muscle during our early weeks here we’d be failures.  That means quite possibly the number on the scale will go up.  Eat Paleo.  Get faster and stronger and get more muscle.  The fat will go away.

Please, please assess yourselves with some real criteria.  We do.

I’m not sure if the trainers read our posts… but here goes “Sorry for my negative can’t do attitude” For some reason cross fit brings out the sassy “F-this Sh*&%!!!” in me. I have HATED this weeks offerings …… Bryon tried his best to explain a few rationals re:box jumps vs step-ups & reasons why to pick a challenging weight…and I was like “WELL WHAT IF YOU JUST SUCK????!!!” So sorry…. uhhmm I think it has to do with being with crossfit through my womanly cycle….(has it been that long??) I really do look forward to coming (except when I know that burpees are promised) & I plan on staying here for a loooooooong while.
& on the weight loss tip, I say don’t get on a scale, don’t eat macadamia nuts by the handfull, & definately do not bring Trader joes peanut butter filled pretzels dipped in chocolate into your domicile, cuz any paleo man or woman worth their genetic salt would eat the WHOLE BAG!

    Erin,
I personally think it’s ok to cuss, especially when you do it! Like the last workout we did together when you said you were done & I told you you still had 9 abs left. F%*K!!!!!! I loved it. To me you aren’t negative, it’s more like sarcastic and comical and you’re busting your ass in here! I have had plenty of workouts where in the middle of it I am thinking why in the hell am I doing this??!! You are doing great girl! By the way, we took first place in the costume contest and the “CT” found it’s way out! I’ll give you the whole scoop when I see you next, thanks for asking! Jenny
