Happy St. Patrick’s Day

I don’t usually need a special occasion to enjoy a Guinness, but if there is one… take it.  I also love corned beef and am looking forward to tasting my CrossFitting-extraordinaire friend Lisaanne’s homemade corned beef.  Cabbage is a staple at my house, so we don’t need a special day for that and potatoes are what ruined the Irish anyway.  They should have left the potatoes in South America where they originated.  I love St. Patrick’s Day even though it is really a much more American holiday than an Irish one.  I know this because I have an aunt, an uncle and 4 cousins who live in the Emerald Isle and they make fun of Americans celebrating St. Paddy’s Day all the time.  When you go to Ireland don’t kiss the Blarney Stone because little Irish boys think it is funny to pee on it.  Enjoy the day.  I like to pretend to be one of the dancers in the whole River Dance thing sometimes when no one is home (that is what we call an active rest day) and I can play the Irish fiddle tunes nice and loud. And of course, The Pogues should be a staple of any good music library as applied to CrossFit workouts.  Moving on…

I was chatting with Rachel today, see her stretching in the photo above, and Rachel has taken her CrossFit workouts to the next level.  Yup, she has decided this 2 or 3 time per week thing wasn’t enough.  Multiple days in a row for Rachel.  Rock on Sister!

Multiple days in a row really are a great way to go. So far since I joined in January I have been doing about 4 – 5 days a week. Usually three on, one off, and than two on again it has been working wonders for me.
The first month I lost 17 lbs, and now I am staying at a very healthy weight, but costing me a lot of money to replace my wardrobe.
Just keep it up, it is certainly worth it, and I am now able to do things I never thought I would be able to do; Handstand push-ups, heavy weighted squats, and run without it completly leaving me breathless.

Good Gracious. I think Rachel is the perfect poster girl for the crossfitter. She may not look it but she is a bad ass. I was so inspired by her that I started and now I feel amazing. It may not look it but I have changed alot and Ii have so much pridfe in myself. I absolutely love going to crossfit. I love the fact that these people genuinely care for me and my peers. I know that when I succeed they succeed. Thank you so much.

I started Crossfit about 3-4 weeks ago and its the best the decision I’ve made for myself this year. I sleep, eat, and feel better already, not to mention my clothes are starting to fit me again! It’s hard work but its worth it and I feel like I belong. My peers and trainers are awesome! Thank you Crossfit!!

Thanks to “Kelly” I now have experienced “sweat and tears” (my 5th group session) but I got through it! Thank you Andrew for your support! We did it!
