CROSSFIT WORKS will be at the “Climb for a Cure” A Mountain event. We will be there to warm up all the folks participating in this event. Maureen, owner of Simply Dinners, will be there with us handing out delicious hand made chocolates.

Rowing Technique Class with Jerry Poplin. Many of us just hop on the rower and go hard. Spend an hour with Jerry learning how to actually move efficiently on the rower so that you can work less and row better.

GYMNASTICS WORLD FIELD TRIP! We will have full use of Gymnastics World, a fully equipped gymnastics training facility. Two of their staff members will be there to give us a new approach to thinking about the gymnastics skills. Did I mention trampolines and foam pits? It will be tons of fun.

Feb 6 10:00am CrossFit Works “Women-Get-Some-Challenge” Baseline Workout
Calling all CrossFit Works’ Women! In all honesty do you still struggle with your pushups and pullups? Are these basic bodyweight, gymnastics movements still not where you would like them to be? On Saturday, February 6 we will kick off an 8 week women’s bodyweight exercise challenge. On the first day we’ll do a test workout and we’ll repeat that workout 8 weeks later.Winning will be based on degree of improvement in your proficiency of the chosen exercises. In the spirit of total involvement and dedication, the CrossFit Trainer with the most improved women will also be recognized. Let’s get a bunch of women at CrossFit Works in the Muscle-Up Club! Get these bodyweight exercises conquered so we can move on. Plus, a bunch of women working together on a CrossFit Challenge? That’s gonna be a good time. There will be a $10 buy-in to establish a kitty which will go to the winners. Participation will be limited, so sign-up early. REGISTRATION IS CLOSED! CrossFit Works Winter Open - On Saturday January 23rd, CrossFit Works will host a CrossFit Competitive Event. Our Winter Open will be open to all CrossFitters in Tucson who are interested in participating. It will be a half-day, two-workout competition. This event will enable you to see and experience what competing in CrossFit is all about. Participating in local competitions can also be a chance to set regular goals for yourself in your training process. We will offer scaled versions of the workout, so it is possible to participate in this Event as long as you have knowledge of and experience with the CrossFit movements. Space will be limited, so call to reserve your spot.

rehabilitation and sports medicine, will provide some basic kettlebell
instruction. Experience the powerful workout potential of the kettlebell,

What is Fitness?
Jennifer Higgins will talk about the definition of fitness, how it changes
as we age, the relationship of fitness to wellness and how to integrate
the process of becoming fitter into your life. We will talk about the
different metabolic pathways and how our training interacts with our
metabolism. This discussion should answer any questions people might have
about CrossFit as well as provide an overview of fitness.

PotLuck, Paleo-Zone Style!!
Hang out with your awesome compatriots, eat delicious food, talk about
strategies for changing over to a Paleo-Zone way of eating and get some
excellent recipe ideas. We will gather and eat after after the 2:00
workout, so don’t eat lunch that day. Please sign up, so we have some

The Nightshades, the Connection Between Your Favorite Foods and Disease
Dr. Garrett Smith, a local naturopathic doctor, will talk about the group
of foods known as the Nightshades. If you have questions or concerns
about the relationship of food to disease, especially the inflammatory,
digestive and autoimmune diseases this is the lecture for you. Dr. Smith
is a well known expert on this topic and will coherently explain the
connection between these common foods and many common diseases and
discomforts.
